Shocking revelations about teens in redacted TikTok documents : NPR
Kids as young as 15 were stripping on TikTok’s live feature fueled by adults who were paying for it.
That’s what TikTok learned when it launched an internal investigation after a [report](https://www.forbes.com/sites/alexandralevine/2022/04/27/how-tiktok-live-became-a-strip-club-filled-with-15-year-olds/) on Forbes. Officials at TikTok discovered that there was “a high” number of underage streamers receiving a “gift” or “coin” in exchange for stripping — real money converted into a digital currency often in the form of a plush toy or a flower.
Starlink BOTG
The Starlink antenna is not that screwy. Phased array antennas been around for more than a century now. What is new is the multi-beam steering and targeting capabilities. That came straight out of the defense industrial base (Lockheed/RCA mainly) in the 80's and 90's. The SPY radar they use for the AEGIS ships is based on the same technology. It's all in the software so I wouldn't be surprised if Musk poached some of those talents from the defense industrial base down there in Howthorne.
It does raise an interesting premise. Can you turn the Starlink antennas (both on the satellite and on the ground) into short range multi-beam radars just by updating their software? Would be a real game changer for drone warfare if they can be used to detect/target small drones both from ground and space.
AI Slop
My error in thinking was that AI entropy would ruin it, but no
It is Human behavior that us ruining the platforms and social media
They depend on advertising, which invites people to game the algo's
They are actually offering tools to their users to easily create content base don popular keywords, trending images and simple video editing tools
Engagement with bots commenting liking and subscribing
It's filling everything up with nonsense
Kindle - nonsense books
Review sites filled with nonsense reviews
The ONLY answer is to charge and charge a LOT for these tools
Helene and Milton
Boots on the ground - Florida hurricanes BOTG
Just now catching up on recent episodes as we are dealing with our flooded FL house in Bradenton, FL. You recently discussed the inaccurate hurricane Milton predictions. We were watching this closely as we had just dried our house out from Hurricane Helene when we got 3-4 inches of water in our house. Here's what I think happened - the initial spagetti plots showed Milton heading towards Tampa Bay so they went with the worst case scenario and had it going through St. Pete and into Tampa Bay with 15-20 foot surge. This was 5 days out so we had days of maximum click bait forecasting. As landfall approached you could see the plots started moving south but the forecast remained worse case scenario. Finally, the day before I noticed they went to 12-15 foot surge but they still stuck with Tampa Bay surge and flooding. It was a SCAM! Milton came ashore 30 miles south of St. Pete which saved Tampa Bay and our house as well. We ended up with no new flooding!
Keep up the good work.

Arrest made after threat to FEMA in North Carolina as hurricane relief operations continue - CBS News
FEMA said later on Monday that it would resume normal operations because the threat turned out to be less serious than first feared.
Initially, an email sent by the U.S. Forest Service to federal responders in Rutherford County alerted them of an apparent standdown after National Guard troops reportedly encountered armed militia saying they were "hunting FEMA."

Gulf of Mexico BS Boots on the ground
Adam and John,
Good evening, gentlemen. I hope this finds y'all doing well. I'm a Louisiana native who has lived in south LA virtually my entire life. Speaking specifically to the "rising sea level," it's been unchanged for the last 27 years I've been going to my family camp, located on the water, in Grand Isle, LA. The water levels fluctuate daily due to tides and winds, as well as summer and winter, but they have remained the same. If anything changed I'd say during the last 2-3 winters the water levels have been lower than previous years making it nearly impossible to get the boat out of the bayou to go fishing.
If the sea level was truly rising then banks wouldn't lend the money to build the camps/homes that are on the water anywhere in the world.
Just my two cents from a coonass! No coonass is not derogatory its like calling someone a redneck.
Thank you for doing what y'all do!
All the best,
Michael

Illness & schools BOTG
ITM, at the school I work at, we've had weeks of about a dozen kids out sick for one reason or another every day: c0vid, stomach issues, fever, etc. plus a bunch of anxiety and ADD issues. The secretary tells me it's never been this bad (the illnesses). And I know for a fact that most of the 300 kids are loaded up with shots, including for c0vid. But please, tell us again that these millions of shots are good for kids.

United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) review clause
Under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) review clause, on July 1, 2026, the U.S., Mexico, and Canada will confirm in writing whether or not to continue the agreement. If one or more of the three parties decide to take the step of not renewing the agreement, it will kick off a process that will leave the future of the USMCA in a state of uncertainty for years to come. That is, unless the objecting party or parties change their mind. Even though the six-year review is still more than two years away, the uncertainty provided by the review clause is already a significant preoccupation for the business communities in all three countries.
