Hello,
If you could send some job karma our way, I would appreciate it. I'm hoping I don't lose my job along with many others; however, if that happens, we may go ahead with our backup plan and move to Texas to try our luck down south. We shall see.
It’s not surprising to us that the 777X is being delayed. From what we've been told, since the Max crashed a couple of years ago, Boeing has been forced to demonstrate proof of work for all the next-gen planes it wants to produce. This has contributed to the slow progress in getting the 777X into production, as they are still in the process of proving the entire aircraft's design. Poor management from years ago prioritized speed over quality, leaving many of us in our current position. It's a shame!
I learned this a while back and never really pieced it together: McDonnell Douglas, a military contractor that merged with Boeing, arguably shifted the focus toward production over quality due to its military-industrial strategies, which may have contributed to Boeing's downfall. But that’s just my opinion.
Whatever the outcome, I believe a proper "getting shit faced" night after this upcoming week of anxiety and layoffs is in order. I’ll work on scheduling a meet up soon.
