Trump sending qPCR instruments is unlikely BOTG
Hi guys,
Anonymous John here from Ireland.
I sell qPCR instruments which were used to test for SARS-CoV2.
Just listening to the latest podcast RE Trump and sending equipment to Putin.
Back then, the exact same instruments Trump had access to were sold in Russia, whether our equipment or other brands. If Putin wanted one, he could have gotten one no bother within Russia. So, I call complete BS.
Of course, since the ‘war’, most companies, including ours have stopped doing business there. Some lovely Russian people who I’d met on many occasions are out of a job.
Big Tech AI and the Socials
I’ve been training AI using AI…for pay! with AI BOTG
Hi Adam,
Just for your personal enjoyment. I spend some of my free time on Outlier AI, a platform that pays humans to train AI. I’ve found I receive the best feedback (from human reviewers) on my training of the AI when I use Gemini AI to assist my training.
Entropy at its finest.
Please don’t get me fired :D
This AI Pioneer Thinks AI Is Dumber Than a Cat - WSJ
Yann LeCun helped give birth to today’s artificial-intelligence boom. But he thinks many experts are exaggerating its power and peril, and he wants people to know it.
While a chorus of prominent technologists tell us that we are close to having computers that surpass human intelligence—and may even supplant it—LeCun has aggressively carved out a place as the AI boom’s best-credentialed skeptic.
LeCun thinks that today’s AI models, while useful, are far from rivaling the intelligence of our pets, let alone us. When I ask whether we should be afraid that AIs will soon grow so powerful that they pose a hazard to us, he quips: “You’re going to have to pardon my French, but that’s complete B.S.”
Sitting in a conference room inside one of Meta’s satellite offices in New York City, he exudes warmth and genial self-possession, and delivers his barbed opinions with the kind of grin that makes you feel as if you are in on the joke.

Boeing Jobs Karma BOTG
Hello,
If you could send some job karma our way, I would appreciate it. I'm hoping I don't lose my job along with many others; however, if that happens, we may go ahead with our backup plan and move to Texas to try our luck down south. We shall see.
It’s not surprising to us that the 777X is being delayed. From what we've been told, since the Max crashed a couple of years ago, Boeing has been forced to demonstrate proof of work for all the next-gen planes it wants to produce. This has contributed to the slow progress in getting the 777X into production, as they are still in the process of proving the entire aircraft's design. Poor management from years ago prioritized speed over quality, leaving many of us in our current position. It's a shame!
I learned this a while back and never really pieced it together: McDonnell Douglas, a military contractor that merged with Boeing, arguably shifted the focus toward production over quality due to its military-industrial strategies, which may have contributed to Boeing's downfall. But that’s just my opinion.
Whatever the outcome, I believe a proper "getting shit faced" night after this upcoming week of anxiety and layoffs is in order. I’ll work on scheduling a meet up soon.

BOTG regarding the climate haven
In episode 1703, you played a clip from MSNBC that referred to the Western North Carolina as a "climate haven." Credit where due, I believe MSNBC is correct insofar as this is exactly what some people who live there--specifically in the Asheville area--believe.
My father, sister, and brother-in-law live in Asheville. While on vacation with my family this past summer, my brother-in-law--like all insecure liberals--couldn't resist steering the conversation to politics and CLIMATE CHANGE to seek some validation. Specifically, he talked about how he loved Asheville not just for its progressive ideals and microbreweries, but for how he felt safe there from the climate. He actually made the statement that "everywhere else will be burning" but Asheville be one of the last remaining habitable places.
Meanwhile, my father recently said to me he believes--without evidence--that humanity only has 30 years to live. He is very sincere and clearly distressed by this knowledge of impending doom.
Asheville is not good for mental health!

Climate Change Storms More Intense BOTG
Adam,
Boots on the ground report from a home insurance product manager (privy to pretty solid data over the years as you can imagine):
Storms are not causing more damage denominated in dollars when you adjust for inflation and home values. You played the report last show admitting storms are not more frequent. The total damage in dollars also not rising suggests pretty strongly they are also not getting more deadly or intense. Hurricane Andrew in 1992 remains the highest dollar cost hurricane inflation adjusted.
However, fire damage is increasing in the drier climates. Obviously changes in fire management over time can be a factor there.

World Bank Wants to Replace Your Signature with Biometrics and Digital IDs
The World Bank (WB) has issued a policy note revealing that it wants to see the development of what it calls electronic signature (including using biometric authentication) frameworks which include legal recognition and trust.
The purpose of these “key enablers” where it concerns digital transactions, is to facilitate “the emergence of a trusted digital economy” – according to this global (and globalist) financial institution.
Their role is to link people’s identities to online interactions, where electronic transactions, as defined by the WB, cover a vast range of activities. And the WB believes that electronic signatures are a critical component of the digital economy.
